Journey inside a lava cave in Iceland in this 3 hour Leiðarendi Lava Cave Tour
This 3 hour Leiðarendi Lava Cave Tour allows you to journey inside the Earth’s crust. If you are interested in exploring what is hidden underneath Iceland’s lava fields, this is the tour for you. Explore the hidden worlds of the lava fields as you will be taken down to “The End of the Road” (I. Leiðarendi).
Leiðarendi lava cave is approx. 900 meter long and there is around 150 meter walk towards it. The cave lies in fact in a circle. The cave is pitch black without lights so you will be provided with a helmet and a headlight. This way you will easily see the wonders that the cave has to offer. You will see magnificent lava formations such as stalactites and drip stalagmites. This is truly an underground adventure. You might need to hunch and crawl a bit but all in all the cave gives an easy access to the underworld of the Icelandic lava fields. The lava above the cave was formed more than 2000 years ago.
