What you'll experience.

The Heritage Horse Riding tour takes you through meadows and lava fields. On your way you’ll pass several farms, which will give you an idea of how the agriculture has developed in the last decades.

The heritage horse riding tour will also offer you a good opportunity to experience the gait tölt on the many good tölt paths in the area. At the end of the tour you are invited for coffee and a homemade baked treat.

The tour takes place in the beautiful surroundings of Ölfus. Horse riding is a rich tradition in the area so the riding trails are excellent which makes the overall horse riding experience even better.

Please note:

This tour is offered all year round. 1.5-2 hours riding, including coffee. Hotel pick-up in Reykjavik every day between 8:00-8:30 and at 13:00-13:20. Return to Reykjavík ca. 13:00 and 17:15. Note that pick up from Hótels in Hafnarfjörður, Kópavogur and Mosfellsbær is at 7:45 and pick up from Seltjarnarnes, Hveragerði and Selfoss is at 8:45 for the morning tour and pick up from Hveragerði and Selfoss is at 13:45 for the afternoon tour.
