Feeling adventurous? In this helicopter and glacier hike adventure tour, you will fly over the spectacular South coast of Iceland and hike the Sólheimajökull outlet glacier. You will get an aerial view of the very scenic South coast of Iceland. The South coast holds amazing black sand beaches, volcanoes, glaciers and waterfalls. You will then be touching down on a glacier and go for an hour long private hiking tour. At the end you will be taken back on board the helicopter and flown to Reykjavík, enjoying the magnificent sights on the way back.
No need to worry about equipment because everything you will need is built into the price. This includes waterproof mountaineering boots, technical glacier equipment and rain gear. All you need to bring is warm clothes, big smiles and maybe a camera to capture those special moments.
Here is a draft of the itinerary.
- Pick up at your accommodation in Reykjavík at 10:00 before heading to Reykjavík city airport.
- Before departure there will be a short briefing and equipment will be fitted for the glacier hike.
- Lift off from Reykjavík for an unforgettable heli flight over the inspiring black sand beaches, volcanos, glaciers and waterfalls of the South coast of Iceland.
- Touch down on the glacier for an hour long private glacier hike and exploration high up on the glacier far off the beaten track.
