The tour

The Cave people exhibition will give you an idea of how it was to live in a cave in Iceland.

Only around 100 years ago a normal Icelandic family lived in a cave. The Cave people exhibition takes you on a journey back to those times.

When they moved out of the caves, all the walls were taken down and the caves were open again. In 2017 the cave house was rebuilt the way it was when the family lived there. You can now visit the cave and see how they lived and hear their story. You will get to know why they lived there, and about their struggles while living in such harsh conditions. You will hear about their love for each other, this place, and their relation with the hidden people.
